CLUB MISSION:
The Hammerhead Wrestling Club seeks to provide instruction in all areas of amateur folk style & freestyle wrestling, to prepare athletes for success in the sport of wrestling. This is achieved through a proprietary belt level curriculum system. Much like the martial arts, Hammerhead Wrestling seeks to recognize and rank skill attainment and progression with award belts similar to those made popular in MMA and the UFC. The club and training opportunities are open to wrestlers aged 6 - Adult, and USA Wrestling bantam, intermediate, novice, schoolboy, cadet, junior, university, senior, and veteran competition age groups.
The ultimate objectives of the Hammerhead system are:
•To provide guided early instruction in a non-competitive environment.
•To build leadership, responsibility, and self-discipline attitudes.
•To continue mastery of folkstyle/freestyle technique through the encouragement of competition and leadership in later stages of the system.
•To ensure the enjoyment of the sport of wrestling into high school and beyond.
